The capacity of the high-voltage battery is continuously calculated by the vehicle or the battery management system and can be read out at any time without preparation. External conditions, such as temperature and charging/discharging behaviour, influence the accuracy of this calculation. The accuracy of the calculation can be increased by preparing the high-voltage battery. To do this, the high-voltage battery is discharged to a defined point and then charged to a defined point after a subsequent waiting period. After a further waiting time, the updated capacity of the high-voltage battery can then be read out.
As the battery installed in the vehicle ages, its usable energy content decreases. This leads in particular to a reduced range and longer charging times. The technical data mentioned refers to the properties of the vehicle offered here when new and may no longer be achieved when used.
