1977 Porsche 911 S Coupe (G-Model I)

Our 1977 911 Safari tribute is our award-winning entry from Porsche Canada’s Classic Restoration Competition in 2022. This full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration that took place over three years where every component was restored or replaced to better than new factory condition. Featuring a steel Carrera S widebody chassis it was thoroughly stripped to bare metal chassis by a Porsche Certified body shop where every gram of corrosion was removed and restored to a body in white as the platform for this one of kind Safari finished in Grand Prix White with Irish Green Safari graphics. The Engine is the original 2.7L flat-six that was balanced, polished and upgraded with high compression pistons, competition cams and perfectly tuned CIS injection that is mated to performance heat-exchangers and exhaust with an estimated 195 horsepower of output. It features a 5-speed manual transmission with a complete new gear set, clutch and limited-slip differential connected to a Wevo performance shifter topped off with a 917 style wooden shift knob. It’s been equipped with Leh Keen’s signature MCS Rally Suspension with coil over shocks. It rolls on original Fuch’s 15” alloy wheels painted Irish Green and paired with rally specific BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. Inside it’s been completely restored with new period correct black vinyl seats featuring Sunderwunch Tartan pattern seat inserts and lower dash. It has a new leather Dash, RS Leather Door Cards, matching green door pulls & seat belts and a Porsche Classic radio. The gauges have been refinished and painted Irish Green and new glass has been installed through out. Additional touches are a Rennline skid plate and roof rack to complete the Safari tribute look that harkens back to the days of the legendary 1970’s 911’s that took on the Dakar and redefined what a rally car could be. This fan favorite 911 Safari won Porsche Canada’s Classic Restoration Passion award in 2022 and has been featured in Porsche magazines and at car shows over the past two years.
